Autumn Happenings at the Marsh: Print Making Workshop on Nov. 13, 10am-1pm
Join Jody Kuchar at Neustadter Nature Center at Collins Marsh for the first Print Making Workshop!
Dry Point printing is an old technique often called Intaglio. Intaglio printing is the opposite of relief printing, in that the printing is done from ink that is below the surface of the plate. The design is cut, scratched, or etched into the printing surface or plate.
In this workshop, we will be making small prints. Maybe even ‘tiny prints’. The prints will be basic, so you learn the techniques of the process. You will etch, then print a design onto a plastic plate. We will also explore the fun of ‘mono-print’ using my little ‘press’, intaglio inks, and your fingers? Everyone will leave the workshop with art they created.
