May Nature Center Loop Trail Stroll

CEI Birders “took a hike” for this month’s meeting. Walking along the loop trail around the nature center grounds, members enjoyed the sights and sounds of mostly resident birds- orioles, kingbirds, pelicans, song sparrows and many more. Yellow warblers dominated the migrating species seen. Especially entertaining was the honking of the local trumpeter swan couple just beyond the dam. Nest building is in full swing and with the shrubs and trees not quite leafed out members spotted quite a few. Hoping the purple martins and osprey get down to business in their respective abodes!
