Birds have “jizz”?

CEI bird club members learned a new term at today’s meeting at the Neustadter Nature Center. Jizz is the overall impression or appearance of a bird gathered from such features as shape, posture, flying style or other habitual movements. A member had asked how best to easily detect an Eastern Phoebe frequenting their yard . The answer was to target the bird’s hallmark movement- tail wagging up and down frequently while perched. This birding ID tip along with many others were included in this month’s meeting discussion.

Bob reported on the Tower View Trail birding highlights and condition. Plans were made to bird along Moschel Rd parking area at the next meeting.

Also a poll will be taken to confirm the best summer meeting time for the club.
