February Bird Club

Today’s Bird Club discussions included the importance of predators in the bird population, how historical records can be documented on eBird and local birding hot spots. First timer Eileen treated everyone to photos of her first viewing of a Carolina wren. While the group met a Northern harrier swooped by to check us out. The meeting ended with a reminder to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count –a collaboration between Cornell University, the National Audubon Society, and Birds Canada,– which takes place February 13th through 16th. Another reminder was shared to attend the presentation Saturday February 21st to learn about the Motus station recently affixed to the tower at Collins Marsh.
