September Events

The History of Collins Marsh….September 19th 1pm.  Local historian Bob Domagalski takes us back…waay back… to the area before it became Collins Marsh State Wildlife  Area. Bob will begin with the Native Americans residing in the area and progress through the 1835 land survey, the land speculators who received property from the newly formed state of Wisconsin, whom they sold the property to, and the land owners up to the time of purchase for the new Wildlife Area in the early 1960’s. Lots of interesting stories to be told!

Annual Membership Meeting… September 26th ….Save the Date…..Lunch and speaker presentation.  Details soon.

Help in the Gardens September 7th 9am-11am and September 21st 4pm-6pm. Perform general weeding and maintenance of our  native plants. While the resident purple martins and osprey have left and Collins Marsh has been drained, there is still plenty of fresh air and views to enjoy while you work.. Garden tools provided or BYO.

CEI Bird Club September 8th at 10am. Neustadter Nature Center . New members welcome. Check us out! 

Marsh Trail Walk September 26th. No formal escorted walk this month as this is the day of our annual members meeting.  Come early and walk the Loop trail around the Nature Center and Tower enjoying the birds, pollinators plants and native shrubs.
